Charlie > Dundas Square downtown Toronto... the 20 fountains spurt water in sequence.. People now gather here, chat and drink coffee. A few years ago it was a dead zone. The fountains have really added a charm.
Charlie > this is what a back alley looks like...just behind Yonge Street
Charlie > Dundas Square squatters
Charlie > King and Yonge... looking North (love that Siggy lens)
Charlie > a tight crop from the larger view up Yonge street... the Siggy 10-20 and D300 can get a lot of info into a pic.
Charlie > 1/8 of an inch of rubber laid down by someone with more horsepower than brains...
The cyclist with the yellow shirt came by at just the right time for me.. Gosh I'm lucky, sometimes.
Charlie > with the rear wheels going up in smoke a car literally slides from side to side on liquid rubber..
Charlie > This lady from Columbia has lived through some very tough times. She worked as a sociologist in a rouge city of some 160 thousand displaced criminals, their families and former drug cartel workers. This place was not recognized in any way by the government. It was left up entirely to it's own resources after the guerrillas and the cartels collapsed. Her son was kidnapped by the very people she was helping but she could not pay the ransom they demanded and he was killed. She has a daughter who is just now graduating university. She was a member of the first church started in this unofficial city and now there are some 269 churches birthed by that one (started by 7 senior citizens)...and now crime is all but unheard of in that place.
There are stories that CNN MSNBC CBS BBC AP REUTERS etc just don't care to report on.
